Stock market starts the week with a decline

The Istanbul Stock Exchange started the first trading day of the week with a decrease. The BIST 100 index traded at 9,606.37 points with a loss of 0.55 percent. At the opening, the BIST 100 index dropped to 9,606.37 points, down 53.10 points and 0.55 percent from the previous close. The banking index lost 0.54 percent, while the holding index depreciated by 0.65 percent. Among the sector indices, sports gained the most by 1.79 percent, while financial leasing factoring lost the most by 0.83 percent. In the domestic market, on the last trading day before the Ramadan Bayram (Eid) holiday, the Istanbul Stock Exchange followed a buying-oriented trend as the BIST 100 index closed the day at 9,659.48 points, gaining 0.49 percent. Global markets are experiencing a mixed trend due to ongoing uncertainties surrounding the tariffs expected to be announced by US President Donald Trump today. Analysts mention that today, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in the domestic market and the ADP private sector employment in the US, as well as a speech by Christine Lagarde, the President of the European Central Bank (ECB), in the Eurozone will be closely monitored. From a technical standpoint, analysts noted that the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,600 and 9,500 points, with resistance levels at 9,750 and 9,850.
