Strong Rally in Istanbul Stock Exchange

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 9,579 points, rising by 3.27 percent.

The easing of tension in global trade kickstarted the market on a positive note.

At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose to 9,579 points, up by 303.61 points and 3.27 percent from the previous closing. The banking index gained 4.25 percent, while the holding index increased by 2.57 percent. All sector indexes rose, with banking being the biggest gainer. The BIST 100 index, which followed a selling trend yesterday, finished the day down by 2.13 percent at 9,275.50 points. Following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of suspending additional tariffs for 90 days for trade partners other than China, the increased risk appetite is driving a positive trend in global markets. Analysts noted that news related to tariffs continues to be a focus for investors. Today, industrial production and weekly monetary and banking statistics will be monitored domestically, while inflation in the U.S. along with weekly jobless claims, average hourly earnings, and federal budget balance will be followed internationally. From a technical standpoint, analysts pointed out that the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,700 and 9,800 points, with support levels at 9,500 and 9,400.
