Sudan army regains control of Presidential Palace

In Sudan, the army clashed with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and seized control of the Presidential Palace in the capital, Khartoum. Army Spokesperson Nebil Abdullah announced the advancement on state television.

Conflict between the army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues in Sudan. The army announced that full control has been established at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Khartoum.

Spokesperson Nebil Abdullah, in his statement on state television, indicated that the Presidential Palace and ministry buildings in the center of Khartoum had been brought under control.

Abdullah stated, “Our forces have completely destroyed enemy fighters and equipment, capturing a significant number of weapons and gear. We confirm that we will continue the fight until victory is achieved.”

It has been reported that the army is conducting search operations targeting RSF forces, with occasional sounds of gunfire heard in the central areas of the capital. The ARMY MAKES PROGRESS

The paramilitary group RSF had swiftly taken control of the palace and a large part of the capital when the conflict began in April 2015.

However, the Sudan Armed Forces have made significant progress towards the palace along the Nile River in recent months.

RSF, which started to establish a parallel government earlier this year, maintains control in western Sudan where they are fighting to take over parts of Khartoum and Omdurman, as well as the military’s last stronghold in Darfur, Al-Fashir.
