Following the call for disarmament by the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) formed by the PKK/YPG, stated that Öcalan’s call was “not related to Kurds in Syria but related to Turkey’s internal politics.” The leader of the PYD terrorist organization, Salih Muslim, also stated that “if freedoms develop, we can certainly lay down our weapons.”

The call for the dissolution of the PKK terrorist organization is on the world’s agenda.

After the call for disarmament by the leader Abdullah Öcalan, a statement was made by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) based in Syria and formed by the YPG.

SDG leader Mazlum Abdi stated that “Öcalan’s call was not directly related to our region. The relationship and peace between the PKK and Turkey will also have an impact on our region. If this process is successful, it will have a positive impact on us, and Turkey will have no excuse to attack our region.” Abdi made these statements during a video conference at a press club in Washington.

SALIH MUSLIM: OUR SITUATION IS DIFFERENT

The leader of the PYD terrorist organization, Salih Muslim, also evaluated Öcalan’s call to media organizations close to the organization. Muslim stated, “Now it’s Turkey’s turn, what steps will they take. Just as the leadership takes full responsibility, the Turkish state should also take responsibility.” Muslim indicated that they will evaluate the call with the actors in northeastern Syria and draw up a roadmap. He stated, “If freedoms develop, we can certainly lay down our weapons. If they deemed necessary, they will convene a congress to lay down arms and self-dissolve. The decision to disarm is the decision of the party. The decision to self-dissolve also belongs to the PKK. Now it is up to Turkey to make decisions. Our situation is different in North and East Syria. Our leaders will sit down and make decisions on what to do with the Syrian regime.”
