Syrians take to the streets in celebration of the agreement between the new government and SDG!

Following the agreement reached between the new government in Syria and SDG, enthusiastic celebrations took place. Large crowds poured into the streets in the capital, Damascus, and in the northeastern city of Qamishli. The agreement between the new government in Syria and the SDG, which is composed of the Syrian branch of the PKK, the YPG, brought about celebrations. Crowds filled the streets in Damascus and Qamishli. The festivities in Damascus took place at Umayyad Square. Syrians took to the roads in convoys with their cars, celebrating the agreement with great enthusiasm. Dances were performed and songs were sung in the square. Similar scenes were captured by cameras in Qamishli, in northeastern Syria as well. The local people in the region chanted slogans of “Syrian people are one,” showing their full support for the agreement. With the agreement, SDG had agreed to integrate with the new state institutions in Syria. The 8-point agreement also includes the complete cessation of conflicts in Syrian territories.
