TASS: 5 Russian Citizens Were on the Ship that Collided with a U.S. Oil Tanker in the Arctic Sea

It has been announced that five Russian citizens were on board the Solong cargo ship that collided with a U.S. oil tanker in the Arctic Sea.

According to the Russian state news agency TASS, as relayed by the Russian embassy in London, the container ship named Solong, which struck a stationary U.S. fuel tanker off the northeast coast of England, had five Russian citizens on board. The embassy confirmed that the 59-year-old captain, who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter due to gross negligence by the British police, was Russian. The Solong, flying the flag of Portugal, collided with the larger Stena Immaculate tanker that was carrying jet fuel for the U.S. military on Monday.

One crew member is presumed missing and deceased.
