Taze Fasulye Emerges as Price Champion in Istanbul

In Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in March was fresh beans, rising by 60.36%. The highest decrease was seen in plane tickets, dropping by 26.03%. Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the most significant price increases and decreases in March. Out of the 336 main products in the index, prices of 208 items increased compared to the previous month, while 52 products saw a price decrease. Fresh beans had the highest price increase in March compared to the previous month at 60.36%, followed by eggplants at 43.88%, zucchinis at 41.93%, bell peppers at 41.73%, and intercity bus tickets at 34.58%. Other products with notable price increases include men’s barber services at 25.23%, lemons at 24.96%, tomatoes at 21.92%, cauliflower at 19.64%, garlic at 19.06%, bananas at 17.25%, and dry onions at 16.11%. Last month, green peppers rose by 12.17%, daily car rental fees by 11.3%, cologne by 9.65%, scallions by 8.79%, ice cream by 8.55%, and potatoes by 8.42%. The product with the most significant price decrease in March compared to the previous month was plane tickets at 26.03%, followed by porcelain household items at 14.19%, curly lettuce at 7.98%, and olive oil at 2.89%. Prices also decreased for dining room sets by 2.19%, fish by 2.18%, deodorants by 1.75%, peanuts by 1.23%, paprika by 0.91%, and instant soups by 0.39.
