The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia reported that a terrorist attack targeting a synagogue and metro in the capital Moscow has been prevented. According to a statement from the press service of the Federal Security Service, it was stated that the terrorist activities of a Russian citizen of Central Asian origin who is a member of a banned international terrorist organization in Russia were thwarted. The statement indicated that the individual was planning a terrorist attack on a synagogue and metro station in Moscow and was planning to go to Afghanistan after the attacks. During the individual’s arrest in the Moscow region, they resisted against the security forces and were neutralized. It was reported that during the search of the individual’s residence, chemical materials used in the production of weapons and explosive devices were found.
