Ticket inspection before the holiday! Penalties issued to those charging excessive prices

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is in the field to combat excessive pricing. Teams are inspecting ticket prices before the holiday.
According to the information obtained, 135 procedures related to excessive pricing were carried out between March 10-13. 389 agencies and 5,232 buses were inspected. Companies determine the fees in the application. However, they cannot change these numbers for 4 months after notifying the ministry.
Teams on the field checked whether tickets were issued above these fees. Penalties of 8,173 Turkish liras were imposed on those applying excessive prices. Officials stated that companies charging excessive prices can be complained about via CIMER, and the ministry carefully examines these complaints, takes the companies’ defenses, and applies penalties.
