Tornado Hits the USA: Death Toll Rises to 36

A tornado that struck the United States resulted in the loss of 36 lives. Some states came to a standstill due to the disaster. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a message of condolences for the tornado catastrophe. It was stated, “We extend our condolences to the American people and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.” The tornado and dust storm that started over the weekend in the United States caused significant devastation in the south of the country. As damage assessment continues, it was reported that the number of fatalities has risen to 36. More than 340,000 households were left without electricity, with the highest death toll recorded in Missouri. Governor Mike Kehoe announced that search operations were ongoing in the city. In the state, over 500 homes were destroyed. Mississippi was also listed as another state hit by tornadoes. More than 20 cities in the state suffered damages. In Kansas, a severe sandstorm brought life to a halt due to strong winds. Eight people died in a chain traffic accident involving more than 50 vehicles. The injured were transported to hospitals with difficulty. An announcement from the White House stated that President Donald Trump had mobilized the National Guard for assistance. According to the National Weather Service, around 40 tornadoes have occurred between Friday and today. American broadcaster NBC reported that the storm’s path has shifted eastward. Pennsylvania, Ohio, and North Carolina are at risk. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a message of condolences for the tornado disaster.
