Trump spoke with Putin: Agreement reached to stop the deaths in the Russia-Ukraine war

U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin stated the conversation lasted 1.5 hours.
Trump announced they had a lengthy and constructive conversation, touching on Ukraine, energy, artificial intelligence, and the strength of the dollar.
“We will visit each other’s countries,” Trump said.
“AGREEMENT REACHED WITH PUTIN”
During the call with Putin, Trump revealed they had agreed to start negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
“We have agreed on stopping the deaths in the Russia-Ukraine war. We have agreed for our teams to start negotiations immediately,” Trump stated.
He also mentioned he would call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Expressing belief in the success of the efforts, Trump said, “Millions have died in a war that would never have happened if I were president, it must end.”
Trump announced that negotiations would be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
“Putin, like me, strongly believes in common sense,” Trump added.

The Ukrainian Presidential Office disclosed that Zelensky had a phone call with Trump.
“We had a meaningful conversation with Trump. We discussed opportunities to achieve peace,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky noted that they discussed details of Trump’s talks with Putin, as well as opening a new chapter on security, economic cooperation, and resource partnership.
President Trump also confirmed they had a phone conversation with Zelensky.
Referring to Zelensky, Trump said, “He also wants peace like Putin.”
