President Donald Trump claimed that the start of the Russia-Ukraine war was permitted by former President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stating, “We must stop this war now, and very quickly.”

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, once again blamed Biden and Zelensky for the Russia-Ukraine war. He stated, “The war between Russia and Ukraine is not my war, it’s Biden’s war. I just got here. (Russia) President (Vladimir) Putin and everyone else respected your President. If the 2020 Presidential elections weren’t rigged, which they were in many ways, this terrible war would never have happened.” Trump emphasized that he had no connection to this war, adding, “President Zelensky and the fraudulent Joe Biden did a terrible job by allowing this disaster to begin. There were many ways to prevent the start of this war, but that’s in the past. Now we must stop this war, and very quickly.” Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow last week, stating that the White House meeting was positive and constructive.

In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” program, made statements regarding the Russia-Ukraine War and invited Trump to Ukraine.

Zelensky noted that Russia continued their attacks on civilians, saying, “Come, see, and then act with a plan on how to end the war. You will understand who you are dealing with. You will understand what Putin is doing. Please, come and see our people, civilians, fighters, hospitals, churches, and the destroyed children before making any decisions or negotiations.”
