Trump’s Middle East envoy traveled to Russia to meet with Putin

The announcement was made that Stewe Witkoff, the Special Envoy for the Middle East of President Trump, traveled to Russia to meet with Russian leader Putin.
President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Stewe Witkoff, is heading to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Axios agency based the news on a source familiar with the visit.
In addition to sources, Axios also supported its report with FlightRadar data showing the plane that Witkoff may be on heading towards Russia.
The Kremlin confirmed the news of Witkoff arriving in Russia. Steve Witkoff is part of the US negotiating team to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Witkoff was previously in Moscow on February 11th and March 13th.
Another source from Axios mentioned that if a ceasefire is not achieved in Ukraine by the end of April, President Donald Trump could impose additional sanctions on Russia.
LAVROV’S STATEMENT ON THE EXCHANGE
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated today that the exchange of prisoners between Russia and America has strengthened trust between the two countries.
Russian-American ballerina Ksenia Karelina, who was sentenced to 12 years in Russia, was exchanged yesterday for Arthur Petrov, who was accused of setting up a global smuggling network to provide sensitive electronic devices to the Russian army.
