Internet service provider Turknet’s database was subjected to a cyber attack on March 11. According to TurkNet’s statement, it was mentioned that some customers’ identity information was obtained during the cyber attack.

It was stated that the attack did not include customers’ financial information and TurkNet user passwords. DATABASE TARGETED WITH ATTACK The statement mentioned that despite the precautions taken under the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), a cyber attack was carried out against the company’s database, with the following expressions used: “During this time, the level of necessary technical and administrative measures has been increased, and security has been ensured. There has been no interruption or problem in our service following the incident. The compromised database includes the name, surname, phone number, subscription number, national identification number, identity information, TurkNet subscription circuit details, address, and static IP information of some customers.” “CURRENT PASSWORDS CAN BE SAFELY USED” The statement highlighted that the attack did not involve customers’ financial information and TurkNet user passwords, emphasizing that this information was securely encrypted end-to-end. It was mentioned in the statement that efforts to identify the responsible parties and initiate the necessary legal processes would be carried out in coordination with the relevant public institutions.
