Samsun will see the establishment of a factory by Chinese automaker Chery and the Machinery Chemistry Industry (MKE). Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality (SMM), Halit Doğan, announced that the city will turn into a production center with the investments from Chinese automotive brand Chery and Machinery Chemistry Industry (MKE). In a written statement, Doğan shared the latest developments about the Chery and MKE production campus in Çarşamba. Highlighting that these investments will enhance the city’s strength, Doğan stated, “These major investments will contribute significantly to Samsun’s strength with its evolving industry, growing economy, young and talented workforce, investment, production, employment, and export-focused growth strategy for the Turkish Century. The people of Samsun will no longer have to leave home to work.” “SAMSUN TO GAIN $1 BILLION WITH CHERY” Halit Doğan emphasized that significant steps have been taken to utilize the potential of Samsun, which has a tremendous potential in various fields from industry to agriculture, and from economy to education. Doğan mentioned that Chery will establish its production campus in the New Organized Industrial Zone in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun, stating: “Our President and Chairman Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, awarded a certificate of appreciation to the company officials for choosing Samsun for their investment during their meeting with Chery representatives in the Presidential Complex. Samsun will gain $1 billion in investment with Chery. The facility, with a capacity of more than 5,000 employees, will produce next-generation electric vehicles and parts.” “MKE SIGNS DISPLAYED” President Doğan noted that the signs for MKE’s Çarşamba production campus have been displayed, emphasizing the significance of this investment for the city.
