Two zebras, six monkeys, antelope, and swan found in minibus stopped at the border

German police encountered exotic animals in a minibus they stopped for inspection at the Dutch border.

German police stopped a minibus at the Dutch border and found two zebras, six monkeys, and other exotic animals.

According to a statement by the Federal Police, the minibus also contained an antelope, a swan, a hawk, and a serval (a small wild cat native to Africa).

The police inspected the Polish-plated vehicle on Friday in the northwest of Germany, entering from Bunde at the Dutch border.

It was noted that the two Polish individuals aged 23 and 31 in the vehicle could not provide any evidence or necessary documents regarding where the animals came from.

The police also mentioned that the animals were not loaded onto the minibus safely, and they were investigating suspicions of violating animal welfare and wildlife protection rules.

The police stated that the minibus entry into Germany was halted and the animals were handed over to Dutch authorities to be cared for in a shelter.
