UK Prime Minister Starmer Meets with Zelensky: We Stand with Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the UK to meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer after a public dispute with US President Donald Trump. During their one-hour meeting at 10 Downing Street, Starmer reaffirmed his country’s support for the Ukraine. Zelensky expressed gratitude for the UK’s consistent support since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and mentioned meeting with Prince Charles as part of his London visit. The leaders will join European counterparts at a Ukraine-themed summit hosted by Starmer, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan representing President Erdogan. The meeting with Prince Charles was arranged at the UK government’s request. Prior to this summit, Zelensky had a heated disagreement with Trump in the Oval Office, causing the cancellation of their joint press briefing. Trump accused Zelensky of lacking readiness for peace, which the Ukrainian leader refuted, stating he had done nothing wrong and did not owe an apology.
