US Department of Homeland Security Begins Using “Lie Detector”

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reportedly started using a “lie detector” to determine which employees may be leaking information to the press. It has been reported that information regarding the department’s operations against irregular migrants has been “leaked”.
In the US media, it is noted that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has instructed to ask staff questions regarding “unauthorized communication with non-profit groups and media organizations” using a lie detector.
OPERATIONS AGAINST IRREGULAR MIGRANTS LEAKED It is stated that information about the department’s operations against irregular migrants has been “leaked” and therefore action has been taken. According to The Hill, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin stated to NewsNation, “The Department of Homeland Security is a national security agency. We can, should, and will polygraph personnel.”
MEASURING PULSE AND BLOOD PRESSURE Within the Department of Homeland Security are entities such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Secret Service. The polygraph, commonly known as a “lie detector,” measures data like pulse and blood pressure.
“2 PEOPLE LEAKING INFORMATION IDENTIFIED” Noem mentioned in a post on March 7th that the Department had identified “2 people leaking information”. Noting that these individuals face 10 years in prison, Noem stated, “We will find and uproot all leakers. They will face prison time, and we will deliver justice for the American people.” However, Noem did not provide details on whether a polygraph was used to identify these individuals.
