US Press Reports: Ministry Orders Halt of Cyber Operations Against Russia

According to a report by the Washington Post (WP), US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has issued instructions to cease cyber operations against Russia. Citing an official familiar with the matter, WP stated that the US Department of Defense has made changes in cyber operations. Hegseth has ordered a suspension of cyber operations against Russia as long as discussions regarding the Russia-Ukraine War continue. Additionally, former diplomat and Vice President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), James Andrew Lewis, expressed to WP that this situation could “jeopardize US national security.” Lewis stressed, “Russia continues to pose one of the greatest cyber threats to the US.”
