US Resumes Intelligence Support and Military Aid to Ukraine

The US has resumed the flow of intelligence support and defense aid to Ukraine after giving the green light to a 30-day ceasefire. The White House confirmed that the Trump administration has restarted intelligence support and defense aid to Ukraine following Kiev’s approval of the 30-day ceasefire. National Security Council (NSC) Spokesperson James Hewitt stated to an AA correspondent that they have resumed military aid to Ukraine after significant progress was made in the US-Ukraine negotiations in Saudi Arabia. Intelligence support and military shipments were suspended after discussions in the Oval Office on February 28 between President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskiy. During the said meeting, Trump accused Zelenskiy of disrespecting the American people, while Zelenskiy stated that he had done nothing wrong to warrant an apology. Speaking in Congress on Tuesday evening, Trump mentioned that Zelenskiy had sent him a letter expressing Ukraine’s readiness to sign the rare earth elements agreement and engage in peace talks. On the other hand, CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed that intelligence support and military aid to the country were temporarily halted following the Oval Office dispute between Trump and Zelenskiy, emphasizing that it was a momentary pause. Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff disclosed that Zelenskiy had apologized in the mentioned letter.
