US Secretary of State Rubio: Visas for South Sudan to be Cancelled

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that they have initiated efforts to cancel visas for South Sudanese citizens.
Rubio accused the South Sudanese government of ‘exploiting the US,’ and stated that they have taken steps to cancel the visas of South Sudan passport holders. The US Department of State released Rubio’s statement on the matter.
The statement emphasized the critical importance of enforcing the country’s immigration laws for the national security and public safety of the US. It stated that when a country, including the US, deports citizens of another country, the country must accept the timely return of its citizens. The statement highlighted that South Sudan did not adhere to this principle, and indicated that additional regulations were being implemented to cancel all visas for South Sudan passport holders and prevent their entry into the US.
