US Senator Proposes Ban on China’s DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence: Demands Imprisonment for Users!

US Senator Josh Hawley proposed a bill this week suggesting a ban on artificial intelligence tools owned by China. If this bill is passed, citizens who violate the ban could face fines of up to $1 million and 20 years of imprisonment.

In recent weeks, the Chinese artificial intelligence chatbot DeepSeek has sparked major controversies.

Although DeepSeek was released in 2023, it gained popularity due to its “R1” model, which performs as well as its competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini while using less resources.

However, this Chinese-made artificial intelligence could be banned in the US, with users potentially facing fines and imprisonment.

IMPRISONMENT PROPOSAL FOR USERS!

Republican Senator Josh Hawley recently proposed a new bill suggesting the ban of DeepSeek and artificial intelligence tools owned by China.

If this bill is accepted, individuals who violate the ban could face fines of up to $1 million and up to 20 years of imprisonment.

For companies using Chinese-made artificial intelligence, penalties could reach up to $100 million.

Although Senator Josh Hawley does not directly mention DeepSeek in the bill, the timing of this proposal, just days after the chatbot reached the top of the US App Store rankings, is noteworthy.

ITALY FIRST COUNTRY TO BAN

Italy was the first country to ban DeepSeek due to privacy concerns, and it is indicated that other countries may take similar steps. In the US, the state of Texas has banned DeepSeek on government devices. Former US President Donald Trump said the Chinese chatbot was a “warning signal” for the national technology industry and stated that he was investigating its impact on national security. DEEPSEEK’S SUCCESS DROPS TECHNOLOGY STOCKS

Following the significant success of DeepSeek, the stock prices of technology giants like Nvidia dropped.

However, the impressive performance of the chatbot cannot be ignored.

When asked about Chinese artificial intelligence, Apple CEO Tim Cook responded, “Innovation that increases efficiency is good.”
