US Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick recommended investors to buy Tesla shares, stating that the price being so low is “unbelievable.” Losses in Tesla shares have exceeded 40% since the beginning of the year. Lutnick, speaking on Fox News, emphasized that Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, is probably the best entrepreneur, technology expert, and company leader working for the US, accusing the Democratic Party of strangely attacking Musk. Lutnick mentioned that Musk will build next-generation technologies and expressed that it is “unbelievable” how cheap Tesla shares are at the moment. He stated, “Once people understand the robots and technology he’s building, it will never be this cheap again. They will look back and think, ‘I should have bought shares of Elon Musk’s company.’ So, who wouldn’t invest in Musk?” Lutnick described Musk as probably the best person he has ever met to place a bet on, adding that if given the chance, he himself would also buy Tesla shares. Musk’s involvement in politics did not benefit Tesla. Following the inauguration of US President Donald Trump on January 20, the decline in the company’s shares was noticed, with losses exceeding 40% since the beginning of the year. Elon Musk, who headed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration, has recently faced criticism due to his efforts to reduce federal bureaucracy. Musk, CEO of Tesla, also faced backlash for his political statements, with protests and arrests of demonstrators held in front of Tesla dealers. Last week, Trump posed with Tesla vehicles brought to the White House lawn, emphasizing his support for Musk by noting that he would purchase a vehicle to show his support for Musk’s dedication to creating a great product. Tesla’s shares reached an all-time high of $488.54 in mid-December last year after Trump’s election as president.
