According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the number of registered vehicles in İzmir reached 1,985,289 by the end of March 2025. This figure indicated an 8.1% increase compared to the same period last year. In March, the number of registered vehicles in İzmir increased by 45.3% compared to the previous month, reaching 12,252. With this increase, İzmir became the 3rd province with the highest number of vehicle registrations following Istanbul and Ankara. Cars accounted for 50.6% of the vehicles registered in İzmir in March, followed by motorcycles at 35.6%, vans at 9.6%, tractors at 2.0%, trucks at 1.4%, minibusses and buses each at 0.4%, and special purpose vehicles at 0.1%. In March, 53,810 vehicles were transferred in İzmir. The number of vehicle transfers increased by 13.5% compared to the previous month. Cars accounted for 67.6% of the transferred vehicles, followed by vans at 14.7%, motorcycles at 12.2%, tractors at 2.1%, trucks at 1.4%, minibusses at 1.2%, buses at 0.6%, and special purpose vehicles at 0.2%.
