Wage Bargaining for Public Sector Workers Begins

Tomorrow, unions will present their wage demands for over 600,000 public sector workers to the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan. Turk-Is and Hak-Is will sit at the table together again this year, as they did last year. Both confederations have identified their demands on various issues related to labor rights, with the wage rate being the top priority. These demands will be presented to Minister Vedat Işıkhan tomorrow. After receiving the demands from the workers, Işıkhan will request a proposal from the employer side, TÜHİS. Subsequently, the Ministry will announce a schedule and official negotiations will commence. The wage rate for workers in public institutions and organizations such as highways, railways, electricity generation plants, ministries, universities, and hospitals will be determined.
