Water crisis in Gaza: Israel cuts electricity to water treatment plant

Israel has cut off the electricity to the seawater treatment plant in Gaza. This has made the already existing clean water shortage situation worse for the people of Gaza.

With Israel stopping aid and cutting off electricity, the already difficult humanitarian conditions in Gaza have deteriorated even further. Since the beginning of the war, Gaza has not been receiving sufficient electricity. Israel took another step to convince Hamas to release the hostages.

RECORD DROP IN WATER PRODUCTION The seawater treatment plant in Deir El Balah was also cut off from electricity. The plant started operating with generators, but water production has decreased from 18 thousand cubic meters per day to 2 thousand cubic meters. Concerns are rising about the clean water shortage worsening in Gaza.

ENTIRE POPULATION IN NEED OF AID The United Nations warns that the cessation of aid will have devastating effects on the people of Gaza.

Almost the entire population of Gaza, which is 2.3 million, is in need of aid.
