During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon will remain in Earth’s shadow for a certain period. When the Moon falls into the darkest part of Earth’s shadow, it is referred to as a total eclipse. The penumbra occurs in a partial shadow situation. The reddish appearance, or in other words, the Blood Moon Eclipse, is observed during a total eclipse. The sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere filters out the blue light. The remaining light reaching the Moon causes it to appear reddish, giving it a crimson appearance during the eclipse, hence known as the “Blood Moon.” The Total Lunar Eclipse will take place on Thursday night into Friday.
