The Central Bank had reduced its policy rate by 250 basis points from 45% to 42.5% in March. So, when will the April Central Bank interest rate decision be announced? What time? Will there be an interest rate cut? The calendar has been determined for the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee to announce the interest rate decision for April. Accordingly; The Central Bank’s interest rate decision in April will be announced on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 14:00. After the interest rate decision, CBRT President Fatih Karahan will make statements. AA Finans’ expectation survey for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on April 17 Thursday had the participation of 21 economists and was concluded. Of the economists participating in the expectation survey, 19 predicted that the policy rate would remain unchanged, while 2 predicted a 350 basis point increase. The median of economists’ expectations for the April MPC decision was that the policy rate would remain unchanged at 42.50%. The median year-end policy rate expectations of economists was 34.50%. In the MPC meeting held last March, the policy rate was reduced by 250 basis points from 45% to 42.5%. In the interim meeting held by the CBRT last month, the rate remained at 42.5% while the overnight borrowing rate was increased to 46%.
