White House Announces Outcome of Negotiations: “Black Sea Ceasefire”

Following discussions in Riyadh, the White House announced separate agreements with Russia and Ukraine on a ceasefire in the Black Sea.

The White House revealed that agreements were separately reached with Russia and Ukraine to avoid military attacks on ships in the Black Sea during discussions completed in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Statements from the White House emphasized that both countries agreed on “ensuring safe navigation, eliminating the use of force, and preventing commercial ships from being used for military purposes.” According to the White House, the US reached an agreement with Ukraine and Russia on ensuring maritime security in the Black Sea. Additionally, the US and Russia reached a consensus on implementing an agreement to halt attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine and Russia. “DETAILS OF THE NEGOTIATIONS WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED”
