Will tech companies merge for Intel?

A new claim has emerged regarding the future of chip giant Intel. It is alleged that Taiwanese chip manufacturer TSMC has offered a partnership to Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom. According to a report on Reuters, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has made a proposal for a joint venture to operate Intel’s factories to American chip producers Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Broadcom. Sources close to the matter suggest that as part of the offer, the Taiwanese chip manufacturer will oversee the operations of Intel’s production centers. However, they will not own more than 50% of the shares. While it is mentioned that discussions are still in the early stages, it’s reported that Trump asked for TSMC’s support in solving the issues in the US chip industry. Sources mentioned that the value of the deal has not been determined yet. Additionally, it was noted that the agreement would require approval from the Trump administration, which does not want Intel or the manufacturing division to be entirely under foreign ownership. Trump and TSMC had announced a plan in early March to build five new factories in the US worth $100 billion.
