For women, the insurance period is reduced to 20 years, with a requirement of 7,200 premium payment days reached. The draft law on Making Changes to Some Laws in order to include economic regulations is being discussed in the Parliament. Along with this development, gradual retirement came back on the agenda. During the meeting with the deputies at the AK Party General Headquarters, Işıkhan stated that they do not plan a new change in the retirement system. The Minister used the expression “The conditions of necessary premium and years to retire will continue.” He informed about the discussions on gradual retirement in a television program and emphasized that there is no question of victimization. The Minister of Labor and Social Security stated, “In my opinion, highlighting the victimization is not a healthy approach. In this context, we are currently working and striving to maintain the existing actuarial balance, how we can regular pay pensions to our retirees, and how we can make the health services sustainable.”
