Bayraktar stated: “The opposition’s claim is based on the usual misinformation and distortion…Only 1.2 million out of 42 million subscribers will be affected by this regulation. The remaining 40.8 million subscribers’ lives will not change in any way. Subscribers exceeding 5,000 kilowatt hours of consumption will be excluded from the support framework from February 2024 onwards.” CRITICAL YEAR FOR AKKUYU Minister Bayraktar mentioned that the commissioning of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant was delayed due to the Russia-Ukraine war, and noted that some equipment supplies were obstructed by European countries. Emphasizing that the supplies are being provided through other channels, Bayraktar said that significant steps will be seen in Akkuyu in 2025. Bayraktar stated: “2025 is a very critical year for us, I can say that the first reactor of Akkuyu, even though it is for testing purposes, will be the most critical year for electricity production. Our goal is to complete this project entirely as soon as possible with 4 reactors.”
