Will there be gradual retirement legislation at the TBMM, will the number of premium days and age requirements change?

Due to the number of premium days, those who cannot retire are closely following the new steps to be taken regarding gradual retirement. In EYT, men need to have a 25-year insurance period and 9,000 premium payment days. For women, the insurance period decreases to 20 years, and the requirement is 7,200 premium payment days. The Draft Law Amending Some Laws Concerning Economic Regulations is being discussed in the Assembly. With this development, gradual retirement has come into the agenda again. Işıkhan stated that they are not planning a new change in the retirement system. The Minister used the phrase, “The premium and year requirements needed to retire will continue.”In a television program where he informed about the discussions on gradual retirement, Işıkhan emphasized that there is no issue of victimization. The Minister of Labor and Social Security said, “I think it is not a healthy style to highlight victimization. In this framework, we are working on how we can maintain the current actuarial balance, how we can pay our retirees their pensions regularly, and how we can make health services sustainable.”
