Will Ukraine be Divided like Berlin?

While Russia continues to resist a ceasefire, US President Donald Trump’s Kiev ambassador suggested that Ukraine could be split like Berlin after World War II.

General Keith Kellogg mentioned that the country could be divided into control zones, with British and French troops stationed in the west as part of a “security force” and Moscow forces in the east.

Kellogg claimed that among these zones would be Ukrainian forces and a demilitarized area, but the US would not provide any ground forces.

The American envoy stated to The Times newspaper, “You can almost create a Russian zone, a French zone, and a British zone as was the case in Berlin after World War II.”

Kellogg later clarified his statement, stating that The Times had distorted his words.

Taking to his social media account, Kellog wrote, “I was referring to forces that would support Ukraine’s sovereignty post-ceasefire. When discussing division, I was thinking about the responsibilities or areas of allied forces.”
