Year-end inflation expectation increased

The market participants’ year-end inflation expectation rose to 28.30 percent.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the Market Participants Survey results for February.

According to the survey, the market participants’ year-end consumer price index (CPI) expectation increased from 27.05 percent to 28.30 percent.

The 12-month CPI expectation was 25.38 percent in the previous survey period and decreased to 25.26 percent in this survey period. The 24-month CPI expectation, on the other hand, was 17.72 percent and 17.26 percent in the same survey periods.

The participants’ three-month interest rate expectation was 40.91 percent in the previous survey period and decreased to 40 percent in this survey period.

The current year-end exchange rate (US Dollar/TRY) expectation was 43.03 Turkish Lira in the previous survey period, but it decreased to 42.89 lira in this survey period. The 12-month exchange rate expectation was 43.81 Turkish Lira in the previous survey period and increased to 43.96 Turkish Lira in this survey period.
