Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski said that the success of the first mineral agreement with the US will depend on President Donald Trump. Zelenski, in his remarks to journalists today, stated that this is part of broader agreements to be made with the US and can provide security guarantees for Ukraine to achieve lasting and fair peace.

He mentioned that the agreement will be signed at the ministerial level and will not require approval in parliament.

Zelenski emphasized that the agreement is a framework for a broader deal. He expressed hope to meet with President Donald Trump in the US on Friday.

The Ukrainian leader also clarified that the mineral agreement does not imply any debt repayment to the US.
