Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made statements on the Russia-Ukraine War on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” program. Zelensky noted that Russia continues its attacks on civilians, saying, “Come, see, and then let’s proceed with a plan on how to end the war. You will understand who you make agreements with. You will understand what Putin is doing.” Addressing US President Donald Trump, Zelensky invited him to Ukraine before deciding on the “peace plan,” saying, “Please come before any decision or negotiation, see our people, civilians, fighters, hospitals, churches, and destroyed children.”
Zelensky stated, “Putin is untrustworthy. I have told President Trump this multiple times. If you wonder why the ceasefire doesn’t work, this is the reason. Putin never wanted the war to end. Putin never wanted us to be independent. Putin wants to completely destroy us.” THE DEATH TOLL IN SUMY ROSE TO 34
It was reported that the program was recorded before Russia’s attack on Sumy. The number of deaths in the Sumy attack by Russia had risen to 34, with 114 people reported injured. TRUMP: “IT WAS A HORRIFIC ATTACK”

Macron said, “Strong measures are needed to impose a ceasefire on Russia. France is tirelessly working with its partners toward this goal.” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the attack as “barbaric,” stating, “Russia was the clear aggressor, blatantly violating international law and continues to act as the aggressor.” Leyen emphasized the need for serious measures for a ceasefire, saying, “Europe will continue to reach out to its partners and maintain strong pressure on Russia until the bloodshed stops and fair and lasting peace in line with Ukraine’s conditions is achieved.” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed horror at Russia’s horrific attacks on civilians in Sumy.
